Prof. Dr. Alfred Nischwitz
Research Group Computer Graphics, Image Processing and Machine Learning
Alfred Nischwitz is Professor of Computer Graphics, Image Processing and Machine Learning and, in addition to his work at the IAMLIS research institute, spokesman for the Image Processing Competence Center at Munich University of Applied Sciences. His research focuses on real-time capable shadow and illumination algorithms in computer graphics in visual and infrared wavelength regions, basic research in Deep Learning algorithms (Convolutional versus Morphological Neural Networks, and interpretability of inference from DNNs), text recognition and de-interference using Deep Learning, real-time capable reconstruction of illumination using Deep Learning for Augmented Reality, combinations of real and synthetic training data to solve the data acquisition problem in Deep Learning.
