News from research at Munich University of Applied Sciences: Our latest paper sheds light on the forest of data
The "Wald5Dplus" project at the Munich University of Applied Sciences sets new standards in the analysis of Central European forests using satellite data time series! We use innovative fusion techniques by combining data from Sentinel1 and Sentinel2 spectrally, polarimetrically and temporally on hypercomplex bases. Our soon-to-be-available public dataset provides 512 channels per year over two years on a 10 m UTM grid, providing unprecedented insights into the structure of our forests.

Science must also serve teaching. Students learn how to work scientifically and publish in the first semesters, for example in the "Remote Sensing" module. Later on, students have the opportunity to delve deeper into current research topics with their final thesis.
