Experience Research: IMM at the "Lange Nacht der Wirtschaft und Wissenschaft" in Oberpfaffenhofen

On June 19, 2026, the Institute for People and Mobility (IMM) at Munich University of Applied Sciences will be a guest at a special event: the Long Night of Business and Science at the Aerospace Flight Test Center (AFTC) in Oberpfaffenhofen, and invites anyone interested to experience research up close.

From 5:00 PM to midnight, the AFTC will open its doors to the public. Together with Munich University of Applied Sciences and the Technical University of Munich, the IMM will showcase what future-oriented mobility research looks like in practice, free of charge and open to everyone.

What can you expect on site?

The IMM and the Doctoral Center for Integrated Mobility (PRIM) at Munich University of Applied Sciences will have their own booth. Visit us and learn more about our research at the intersection of people, technology, and mobility.

In addition, colleagues from the faculty led by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Alexander Knoll will showcase exciting projects, ranging from unmanned helicopter swarms for wildfire suppression to control systems for air taxis and high-altitude research balloons serving as test platforms for satellite systems. Those who wish can even try their hand at it: a simulated flight to the ISS or a virtual test flight in an air taxi await brave pilots.
