Applied Research Conference 2026

Applied research is the focus of the Applied Research Conference (ARC), which is aimed at students in the Master of Applied Research in Engineering Sciences (MAPR) program and is hosted annually by one of the nine Bavarian universities that offer the program.

The all-day event will take place on July 3, 2026, at Munich University of Applied Sciences. More than 170 MAPR students from all technical disciplines and their supervising professors are expected to attend.

The program features a keynote address by a prominent industry representative, as well as concurrent paper and poster sessions by students from various semesters, who will present their research and offer participants the opportunity for interdisciplinary exchange.

The fields of study include mechanical engineering, data science, machine learning, materials science, measurement technology, energy technology, robotics, and software development.

Format of an Academic Conference

Although the ARC is primarily aimed at master’s students, the event is designed like an academic conference, from the call for papers and paper presentations to the division of the conference into lecture and poster sessions.

The focus of this annual event is not only on the presentation of research by MAPR students, but also, and perhaps above all, on networking among participants across disciplinary, departmental, and institutional boundaries.

Join Us and Learn Something New

We strongly encourage students to actively participate in the conference and attend presentations. We invite not only students from the MAPR research program, but also professors and interested individuals from other faculties and disciplines.

Interested? Then please take a look at the “Call for Papers” (CFP).

About the Master of Applied Research in Engineering Sciences (M.Sc.)

The “Master of Applied Research in Engineering Sciences” program is a joint initiative of nine Bavarian universities (Amberg-Weiden, Ansbach, Augsburg, Deggendorf, Ingolstadt, Landshut, Munich, Nuremberg, Regensburg) and trains engineers for careers in applied research and development.

The program is particularly suited for students who enjoy research and the further development of innovative technical or scientific topics.

The target audience consists of graduates of bachelor’s programs in STEM fields who have a special interest in scientific questions, in organizing and carrying out scientific projects, and in independently working on a research topic.
