Prof. Dr. habil. Schöttl is professor for autonomous system and computer engineering. He works in the field of autonomous robotic systems, especially in the area of assistance robotics and autonomous driving, as well as image processing and computer vision. Machine learning theory and stochastic systems, in particular filtering theory, are other main areas of his work. He is working in several industrially and publicly funded projects on issues related to assistance robotics, virtual/augmented reality, machine interpretation of automotive acoustic and optical data, anomaly detection in manufacturing processes, and issues related to navigation and state estimation.
