Prof. Dr. Peter Mandl

Research Group Distributed and Cognitive Computing

Peter Mandl is a professor for distributed systems and, in addition to his work at the IAMLIS research institute, spokesman for the Competence Center Business Informatics at Munich University of Applied Sciences. Peter Mandl's core competencies are in the area of distributed systems development. His research focuses on intelligent services and platforms, especially on the Internet. In his research group Applied Computer Science / Distributed and Cognitive Computing, he works on the development of new services for decision support and matching methods in various application scenarios. This involves analyzing extensive data from social media channels and web content and processing it for the development of new similarity metrics and application-specific classifiers. Further competencies are in the areas of middleware, distributed transaction protocols and distributed consensus protocols as well as blockchain applications.
