HM establishes institute for machine learning and intelligent systems

At the new research institute IAMLIS, Munich University of Applied Sciences bundles the methodological and technical expertise from several faculties in the fields of machine learning and intelligent systems. The scientists drive the development of AI core competencies and support research and technology transfer.

With the "Institute for Applications of Machine Learning and Intelligent Systems" (IAMLIS), Munich University of Applied Sciences is founding its fourth research institute. The six founding professors are Prof. Dr. Peter Krzystek and Prof. Dr. Andreas Schmitt from the Faculty of Geoinformation, Prof. Dr. Peter Mandl, Prof. Dr. Georg Peters and Prof. Dr. Lars Wischhof from the Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics, and Prof. Dr. Alfred Schöttl from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology. Their goals: To intensify research activities in the application areas of distributed systems, text mining cluster analysis, multi-level decision systems in the environment of dynamic systems, networked intelligent transportation systems, automotive/ambient assisted living (assistant robots) and forestry.
