Prof. Dr.-Ing. Andrea Kustermann has been Professor of Construction Chemistry, Building Materials and Construction in Existing Contexts at the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the University of Applied Sciences Munich since October 2013. At the University of the Federal Armed Forces Munich, she served as academic director (5/2013 - 9/2013), scientific laboratory director (2005-2013), and research associate (1998-2005) at the Institute for Building Materials. After her training as a carpenter (1990-1992), Andrea Kustermann studied civil engineering at the Technical University of Munich (1992-1997) and worked there as a research assistant at the Institute of Building Materials until 1998.

Since 1999 she has been running her own engineering office for building damage surveys and material analysis and since 2003 she has been a partner in the construction company for renovation and reconstruction work Kustermann & Herz GbR.
