The Institute for Material and Building Research was founded in July 2019 as one of the first research institutes at Munich University of Applied Sciences and represents the faculties of architecture, civil engineering and mechanical engineering. The focus is on the long-term preservation and sustainable development of the building and infrastructure stock. Future research topics include the durability of materials, structures and buildings, resource efficiency and life cycle considerations and reliability and safety.
