Prof. Dr.-Ing. André Dürr has been a professor since 2015 in the fields of steel construction and structural engineering at the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Munich University of Applied Sciences.

He studied civil engineering at the University of Stuttgart as well as at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta / USA and completed his studies with the degrees Master of Science in Civil Engineering in 1997 and Diplom-Ingenieur in 1999. In the course of his work as a research assistant at the Institute for Design and Construction at the University of Stuttgart, he dealt intensively with the topics of fatigue strength of high-strength steels and crane runways and received his doctorate in 2006 as Dr.-Ing.

In his professional practice, Prof. Dürr has successfully completed numerous projects with very different issues in steel and composite construction in the technical office of Züblin AG, as project manager and structural engineer at Donges Stahlbau GmbH and in his function as head of the steel construction planning department at HOCHTIEF Engineering GmbH. In addition, he was practically involved in the execution supervision and quality assurance of new buildings as well as in the appraisal and post-assessment of existing steel structures.
