Pepper-Robots Help in Class

17. June 2020.

The City of Munich has long been looking for a suitable application for its two digital helpers, two robots called Pepper. They are to be used in schools and kindergartens, among other places, but a suitable concept for their use was missing until now. Students at the Munich University of Applied Sciences tried to find a solution for this by looking for ways in which Pepper could motivate students in the classroom. During the solution-finding process, they were supported by Amazon Web Services and the “Working Backwards” technique. The results were presented in form of a Power Point presentation in which the students discussed the robots’ capabilities and played through various situations in class. The programming will take place this semester and is a prerequisite for a test run, which is also scheduled to take place this year.

The full report on the challenge can be found here.
