Does our energy consumption still match our energy production?

"Does our energy consumption still match our energy production?"

Prof. Simon Schramm answered this question last year as part of the lecture series. The residual load is defined as the remaining electricity load after deducting the current output of non-regulable renewable energies (solar, wind, hydro) from the current total load. At present, the residual power is distributed differently over the year and is lower in summer than in winter, depending on the composition of renewable energies. With further expansion, volatile generation requires flexibility, even over longer periods of time.

The vision of the future is: The 'new' consumption adapts much more to the supply of generation power, is much more active and flexible in its mode of operation. The energy used is produced much more sustainably.
