100 Participants at SummerCamp

08. October 2019.

The Digital Transformation Lab (DTLab) offered the DTLab Summer Camp at the Munich University of Applied Sciences as training for students and teachers. A total of almost 100 participants took part in two training sessions over the course of four days.

Cloud computing is one of the key technologies of digitalization, one of the largest growth markets in the IT industry and of great relevance for digital start-ups. The Summer Camp offered the opportunity to acquire basic knowledge on the topic or to expand existing knowledge, using Amazon Web Services (AWS) as an example. Thanks to the support of Amazon Web Services, the event was free of charge for participants.

On the first day, the "Cloud Practitioner Essentials" training provided an overall understanding of the AWS Cloud. The following three days consisted of the training "Developing on AWS", where the participants could test and develop their skills in practical exercises.

The transfer of knowledge in the field of Cloud Computing is a central goal of the DTLab. Students who want to use AWS in practical projects can do so in the winter semester in the courses in which DTLab challenges are offered. There students work on problems in the field of digitalization that are identified by public sector organizations. In addition, further training courses are planned for the future.
