Measurement-based validation of RMS simulation models of grid-forming inverters in isolated grids

As Germany's power supply transitions, grid-forming inverters become crucial for stable operation. The "Fuchstal-leuchtet" project examines their frequency and voltage behavior, validating simulation models with measurement data. The first field trial analyzes interactions between two grid-forming battery inverters in an island grid under various settings, studying dynamic and static grid voltage and frequency behavior. Additionally, it highlights inverter interaction parameters and the limitations of RMS modeling versus EMT modeling.
