Circular Cities
18. June 2021.
One of the most important places for nearly all of us during the last year of the Corona crisis must have been our neighbourhood and city of residence. With two hard lockdowns, travel restrictions and smart working, our homes and surroundings suddenly turned into some of the only places we could spend time at. 13 international student teams took part in the 2021 SEA Hackathon, where they tried to come up with ideas that would improve the life in Munich and its neighbourhoods while considering the environment. The ideas that the students proposed and elaborated included a platform to turn Munich into a “circular city”, an app called “fixit”, made to distribute on-demand toolboxes and give advice on the topic of “upcycling”, an (online) workshop on how to repair broken items at home and the innovative green computing solution M/Computing.
The 2021 SEA Hackathon was organised by the Social Entrepreneurship Academy (SEA) and supported by the DTLab and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
